Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress, best well-known for her films as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts at Brown University in African-American Studies. At the Tisch school of the arts, New York University she earned an MFA. Aunjanue L. Ellis is an American actor and producer, who has been actively involved in theater, film, as well as television. Her stage debut was in the year 2000 and went onto appear in independent, mainstream as well as television shows. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she received not just high praise but also numerous nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Movie. She made her professional debut as Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. The credits on stage comprise Come and Gone Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production by Joe Turner. In her film career, she is best known for her roles in films like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help.
